CTE-Career & Technical Education

Students are entering a highly competitive workforce and we are working hard to ensure our students are prepared. When we say students are career and college ready, it means they can integrate and apply 21st century skills, technical knowledge and skills, and core academic knowledge. Students even take OSHA training courses to help them work safely in their future careers.

Career and Technical Education at Mormon Trail emphasizes real world, real life skills and connects the learning to academics and training that will help our students be successful in the global economy. Our goal is that every Mormon Trail student will graduate from high school globally competitive for work and postsecondary education and prepared for life in the 21st century.

I-Smile

Exciting News! I-Smile™ program has received legal approval to start using the electronic I-Smile™ @ School consent/release form! The link to the form is: https://is.gd/ismileconsent  and may be used immediately!

We are hoping to utilize this process in an effort to be more environmentally friendly.  You would not believe the amount of paper we go through. L  Of course, we still accept paper consents, some families will still need paper copies, the electronic form is another option beginning 2019-2020 school year.  Many of you have paper already, if you choose to go paperless any unused paper forms can be returned to the I-Smile dental team.

This will eliminate TEACHERS OR NURSES having to hand out or collect paper forms. J

The electronic consent forms are completed and submitted directly to IDPH (Iowa Dept. of Public Health).

The electronic consent is very secure (meets and exceeds requirements for collecting and storing Personally Identifiable Information [PII]) and information in the consent cannot be shared outside of the release of information parameters. It is also very user friendly – works on all Apple and Android phones, iPads and tablets, as well as all desktop and laptop computers.
