Special Meeting
August 11, 2016
The Mormon Trail School Board met in special session on August 11, 2016 in the office of the District’s Board Secretary to approve the recall of an Elementary teacher and to approve the appointment of Becky Stripe as Elementary Principal. President Smiarowski called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. Lundahl answered roll call with Evans, Peasley, Funk and Smiarowski joining the meeting via cell phones. Superintendent Paxson and Secretary Rash were also in attendance. Lundahl made a motion to hire Becky Stripe as half time Elementary Principal and half time Elementary teacher with a combined salary of $49,700. Evans seconded with all voting aye. Stripe will fill the Principal position previously held by Mike Snyder. Snyder will continue as the District’s Athletic Director and as Elementary Physical Education instructor. Lundahl made a motion to recall and hire Gina Savely as the 6th grade Elementary teacher. Evans seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried. 6th grade was previously taught by Becky Stripe. Stripe begins her 15th year at Mormon Trail with the last 9 years teaching students in 6th grade. Savely will begin her 2nd year at Mormon Trail. The Board would like to wish Stripe, Snyder and Savely well in their newly appointed roles with the District. Lundahl made a motion to adjourn with Evans seconding. All voted aye. Smiarowski closed the meeting at 6:25 p.m.
