SPECIAL MEETING
Minutes
February 18, 2016
President Smiarowski called the special meeting of the Mormon Trail Board of Directors to order at 5:00 p m. The meeting was held at the Elementary in the Library. Smiarowski, Funk, Peasley and Lundahl were present to answer roll call with Evans present via telephone. Also in attendance were Principal Mike Snyder, Superintendent Lorna Paxson and Secretary Peggy Rash. Being the only item on the agenda, the Board discussed the position of full time day Custodian at the Humeston building. Evans made a motion to set the starting wage at $9.25 per hour plus benefits. Peasley seconded the motion with all voting aye. Benefits, including single health insurance coverage along with sick and family leave, personal time and vacation days prorated for the remainder of the current fiscal year were included in the package. The position will go to a full twelve-month, 40 hour per week contract on July 1, 2016 when the new fiscal year begins. Superintendent Paxson commented that she had interviewed several good candidates for the job but made a recommendation to the Board to offer the position to Daniel Utzke. Evans made a motion to hire Daniel Utzke for the position of day custodian at the Humeston building. Funk seconded the motion with all voting aye. Lundahl moved to adjourn the meeting. The second came from Funk. All voted aye. Smiarowski adjourned the meeting at 5:20 p m. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Mormon Trail Board of Directors will be held March 14th @ 7:30 pm in the Elementary Library.
