On August 28th, the Mormon Trail Saints manhandled the Murray Mustangs for the second year in a row, by the score of 62 to 44. The Saints are compiled of six seniors, two juniors, three sophomores, and two freshmen. Kale Horton led the scoring with 6 touchdowns and Brett Leer 2. The ground game racked up 335 yards rushing, led by Leer with 179, and Horton with 141. Travis Pollock went to the air 2 times, completing both passes for a total of 17 yards. The defense was led by Leer with 9 tackles, Horton 7, Cale Hitt 6 and Jamie Young 5.5. The Saints forced 4 turnovers: 3 interceptions by Leer, Hitt and Young, and a very timely fumble recovery by Keaton Gwinn. Great start to the season.
